I've never played a VN before, but this is the most wholesome thing I have ever experienced. I was genuinely sad when it was over. VNAnon, you have a knack of making Dawn so lovable. SuiteNan's art makes it feel so official which really sells it even more. Thank you for making this a thing.

To VNAnon: I would love to see any sort of full fledged VN with more artwork from you. This is some really phenomenal stuff man
You get more skill the more practice you do before the day of the contest; do all the contest prep events and try swords dance then quick attack in the practice battles. In the contest focus on dodges/hitting snivy.
Took me 3 hours of retries to finally get the ending with the H-scenes. And it was worth it. The VN is amazing. Really enjoyed it. I hope there will be more to come with other characters or even Dawn 2.0 in the future :D
You need to get the 1st scene right and win the contest in order to trigger the H-scenes in the post-contest. Not sure what I clicked exactly but I tried to spend as much time as I could with her by grooming, talking to her once about her adventures (including breakfast to maximise the day) and the contest + battles. Scyther MUST learn the new battle move + contest appeal move too.
So like, idk if something changed and tbh its not that it matters but no matter what I do I ain't completing that gallery, am I missing the "sex scenes"? Cuz like I didn't have one no matter what I did and yes the lewd thing was on
my experience in a nutshell is that i had fun (scyther killed me most of the time XD) and i can see that with more time and resources this could be a EVEN GREATER VN.

The first scene is before the contest and requires you to do just about everything right, the second one after the contest is more lenient. If you've got them before, I haven't changed anything to my knowledge that would make it harder to get than 0.9.
Basically just ignore the contest stuff and hang out with her as much as possible, that'll increase her affection.
Thanks for the tips. It seems to be working. Don't have an older version to confirm, but it does seem harder to get the first scene. It is really easy to miss the first scene if you don't pick the right option every time. I'm not sure if is possible to get it and also win against Rosa and Hilda.
It seems like there are ways to optimize time usage. For example, the first time you can choose what to do with Dawn, you can choose between breakfast, hanging out, or walking around the deck. I noticed that if you eat breakfast, you can still walk with her or hang out before the day ends, letting you do two things in one day. If you choose to walk or hang out first, then that is all you can do before the day ends and you miss breakfast.
Overall an amazing game. I followed it for a while and it is awesome to see it finished. Hopefully you do a game with Rosa or Hilda one day, the art you used for them is too cute.
After playing this I started looking for games similar to this. There's gotta be. A pokemon slice of life is something I didn't know I needed but now I need more!! Love the game.
Usually fanfics like this are absolute dogshit, like for real, but this is amazing! This little dumb fanfic project rivals that of legit professional VNs. The writing is good, the story is enjoyable, the VN actually makes you do shit other than click the enter button. I love how, despite how little the author had to work with in the sprite department, they tried their hardest. The story is well thought out and is very... Pokemon. I few problems to think about, of course the game needs more consistent sprites. I'd love to see more content, it would suck to see this VN end, I believe there's definitely more material to be added. The route I took when playing this game is one where I romanced Dawn after the tournament, although I found out you could do it before the tournament. I feel like that should be removed, the route I took seemed way more realistic and made a lot more sense, the other one felt like easy romance if you know what I'm saying. I liked the side story about the protagonist and his scyther, I definitely feel like that bond added to the overall experience, and I would love to see that explored more. I love the addition of battles, it added some actual gameplay to the Visual Novel. Again I'd love to see more content, maybe more things you and Dawn can do. I also noticed that you can romance dawn and then continue the story only to be presented with an opportunity to romance her again, and by the time the second opportunity strikes it acts like the first romance never happened, and both the character and Dawn start admitting their love for each other again, in other words the game kinda loops, which was weird. I'd love to see the monetary system explored a bit more, I also think there should be some sort of way for the player to know how many days left they have until the cruise is over. Idk if there's any bad endings but maybe their should be. Anyways good shit, I'm definitely gonna be following the creator of this game like a cat and a mouse.
Aw, thank you so much friend, I appreciate the review <3 Yeah sprites are an issue, Dawn's consistent because it's all from one artist but when I decided to put in different characters I kinda winged it. In 1.0 the extra characters are all in the same style with my own sprites, still using the same dawn ones though so hopefully that doesn't clash too much. The quickest romance route is I think in there for people specifically going for it since you have to do pretty specific stuff and ignore just about everything contest related which I don't expect people to do by accident, I guess.
I'm also very happy with how scyther turned out, I didn't expect such a positive reception on something I'd made up myself rather than something about dawn, so that's nice. I would have liked to somehow make a proper battle system with health bars and a cool UI but that's a bit beyond my ability.
There are some bugs in 0.9 that time warp, hopefully I've fixed all those for 1.0. The money system was added when I as still finding my style, I think. I wasn't sure if was going to be a VN or a dating sim where you click around a map and have stats or something, so it's a vestigial holdover from those times. I did attempt to make the characters comment on how many days were left on the cruise in lieu of having a number just pop up on the screen.
I decided pretty early on that I didn't want any bad ends, partly because my little heart couldn't take writing one with dawn mad at you :c my excuse is that this is supposed to be a feel-good fantasy fulfillment story.
I remember months ago I saw you on /vp/ and encouraged your work on this, and I didn't expect to randomly stumble across it on this site. Can't wait to play it, I might even do a let's play.

Bro, this game is fucking fantastic. I haven't played a chill VN in such a long time and this is by far the best one I've played. I mean that whole heartedly. Sure there's some bugs here and there but even then, the game IS enjoyable. You definitely have potential man. I honestly can't wait for more updates and if not, another game involving another character. Whatever your choice is, I'm sure it'll be beneficial regardless. Keep your chin up, you got it :)
The game is pretty much amazing I haven't read a vn story that good since once in a lifetime (no offense still think once in a lifetime is still the best) the writing is top notch something that most movies and games today don't have and the pacing of the romance is really great, not too ow not too fast and I enjoyed every part of that I hope v.0.10 or whichever comes out next comes out soon I would love to see an epilogue of this and props to you and your writing. If you wanna see a somewhat short vn that is cute and makes you want to see more of it this is a vn you should play thank you for making this.
Honestly speaking the only nitpick i have is with the stuff that would fall under potential copyright issues, but seeing as its an early version and that stuff will eventually be fixed its not too bad. Writing is quite good overall as is the general story. interested to see what else is in store.

I wish I could give an accurate time but I'm about to be very busy with real life stuff including moving across the country so it could be anywhere from a couple weeks to several months, unfortunately. It'll come out eventually, I'll say that much.

Made my crush on Dawn I had as a kid watching the Pokemon anime come back. I don't know if I appreciate that. Very good Visual Novel regardless. The Katawa Shoujo soundtrack fits in nicely, the dialogue between the MC and dawn is fun, and the choice of Scyther as a side-kick is just uncommon enough that I think it's perfect. Truly looking forward top whatever comes next from you, whether it be Pokemon related or not. Keep up the good work!
