Well it's been a few months since the last stable release. Figured I'd talk about the project, what I'm doing now, and what comes next.

As I've said, I don't know how realistic a goal it is, but I'd like to eventually have all original assets for this. I'm currently still using the Katawa Shoujo soundtrack, and a whole lot of other repurposed stuff like sprites and backgrounds. So right now I'm trying to fix that. Exhibit A: Cutie Pie #1

SuiteNan is currently working on sprites so I can replace the ones by Hainchu that I don't actually own. Hilda and Rosa are currently done this way,  but the main gal needs more poses, so it's taking longer. There's going to be less of a variety of poses and more of a focus on different expressions for each pose, something that's more common with visual novels, I think. A complaint I've heard multiple times is that Dawn seems too emotive, since she's flipping between poses every other sentence, which is a product of me basically using whatever poses Hainchu had. That actually goes beyond just visuals and leaks into the story of the VN; ever wonder why you can go to the pool but she doesn't get into a swimsuit? Cuz I couldn't find enough swimsuit art! At this point, I don't actually know if I'll change that, since it does work as is, but that's just an example of how this whole thing was made with whatever scraps I could find.

I'll also try to get new Piplup and Scyther art, and potentially other background ancillary stuff, but that's a lower priority.

Next is music. I'm working with a musician to try and replace the Kaddawa Shoejoe soundtrack, which is frankly a herculean task. I really really love that soundtrack, but it isn't mine, so I do want to get an original one. Here's a work-in-progress sample, I'd love to hear any thoughts on it.

You'll likely hear the Katawa Shoujo influence on it. I don't really know much about music or its creation, so I have a hard time articulating what I want out of a piece other than "here's what I already have, can you make it like that?". I don't just want the same soundtrack that already exists though, so it's more like "here's what I already have, can you make it like that, but not like that?".

I'm not sure how difficult a client I'm being.

After all that, there will probably be some new content here and there. I'll see about adding either an extra day or two, or just giving some more options to the days that are already there. There's also gonna be a Hilda/Rosa non-canon bit since they're also cute. As for a sequel, I'm definitely not making any promises here. It's certainly not impossible, but it's also not something I'm working on as of now. In the future, who knows.
